About 31st Annual Warm the Soles
For over 30 years, the America First Charitable Foundation has provided shoes to Title I students in need through our Warm the Soles program. We collect monetary donations to purchase new shoes for children in need throughout Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. Shoes are purchased for students and wrapped by America First employee volunteers, then they are sent or hand-delivered to the student. Most students who enter this program do not receive Christmas presents, so we hope to give them one to open.
The Warm the Soles program has become one of America First's most enduring holiday traditions. We'd definitely like to see such a welcome trend continue. Last year, we provided over 4,000 pairs of shoes to children in Arizona, California, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah. We also supported over 40 schools and organizations.
We also partnered with Real Salt Lake and provided every student from Midvale Elementary in Midvale, Utah a new pair of shoes. Students went on a field trip to America First Field, got a tour of the stadium, ate lunch, met Santa, and got to pick out their favorite pair of shoes. Utah Royals and RSL players and former RSL star Nick Rimando handed the shoes to the kids and signed autographs afterwards.
Although we aim to provide the shoes during the holidays, contributions to the Warm the Soles of Kids program can be made year-round.
Donations for the Warm the Soles program will be accepted through December 31st.
